9 September 2018- Tracking Tropical Storm Isaac

Tropical Storm Isaac

Tropical Storm Isaac is gaining strength as it makes its way across the Atlantic. As at 5 pm Sunday, 9 September 2018, the system was still a tropical storm. However, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) expects that the system will reach hurricane strength by tonight. According to the NHC Advisory No. 9, the system will move across the Caribbean by Wednesday or Thursday this week. The models predict that the system is likely to pass well south of the Virgin Islands. However, guests at Oliph Blossome Villas should continue to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Isaac as it makes its way towards the Caribbean.

Hurricane Irma made landfall in Tortola on 6 September 2017 at Category 5 strength, causing extensive damage to many homes, businesses, and the island’s infrastructure. Fortunately, Oliph Blossome Villa was quickly back up and running. While we continue to closely monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Isaac, we hope and pray that it does not impact the British Virgin Islands.
